BRICK WALLS
1) IDA MAY SEARLES
HERE IS THE MYSTERY:
a) birth: On the 1895 Pottawattamie,
Iowa
Census Record Ida isn't listed, Charles is
recorded with wife, Lora (perhaps a
second wife?)
b) Charles's age is listed as 29, and a son,
Albert, is recorded as 14 years old. but this
would make Charles 15 years older than his
son, and only 12 when married in 1878.
c) So far I'm unable to find Ida's birth record
d) Ida married Charles M. Phillips on
08 Oct 1878 in Union Co., Iowa (Her
name on the Iowa Marriage Records
is, Ida "A"-"Searl"). Can this be
a different Ida?
e) I am searching
for "proof" of Ida's
parents. I have them as:
Jacob Homer Searles (Civil War Vet)
and
Josephine Jividen
No parent's names are recorded on
Ida's Marriage Record, and no one
in the family knows where we got
Ida's parents names from originally.
f) Josephine and Homer Searles are
recorded on the following census
records with their children, but alas,
Ida is not mentioned.
