1. Born in Reading, Middlesex, MA
2. He served in the Indain wars from Billerica and was a member of the expedition to the eastward in June of 1667. This company was manned with
50 English soldiers and 200 friendly `Christian' Indains from Natick,Mass.
The expedition was centered along the Kennebec River in Maine. Thomas was
wounde d-shot through the side of his
belt and through his left knee,but escaped mira culousy when nearly
all of his companions were ambushed and killed. The Mass.A rchives Vol
XIX p.209,
contains the best account of this expedition known. Also "A Genealogical History of the Town of Reading, Mass 1639-1874" by Hon. Lilley Eaton. He was wounded, but escaped alive,
in 1677 during King Philip's War in the battle in which Capt
Swett was killed.
