QUARTZ: The word quartz comes from a Slavic word that means “hard”.
Crystal comes from the Greek, and means “Ice”.
In fact, the Greeks believed that rock crystals were eternally frozen,
and up until the 16th century, scientists firmly believed
that quartz was actually fossilized ice!
Roman women carried quartz spheres around to cool their hands
during hot summer days.
It was sacred in many cultures and used for mystical purposes by most.
The Native American shamans used crystals for divining, and for hunting
charms.
Since the Middle Ages, quartz crystal spheres have been used to predict
the future.
Crystal balls have been found in a number of ancient tombs, dating as far back as 481 b.c..
Crystal balls were also placed in the tombs of all the kings of France.
It was used to balance and harmonize energy, amplify thoughts,
bring happiness and optimism, connect the physical and mental needs,
and dispel negativity.
AQUAMARINE: Has long been sought after as the provider of Courage,
purification,
peace, intuition, self-expression, balance, preparedness.
Since early times, aquamarine has been believed to endow the wearer
with foresight,
courage, and happiness. It is said to have the ability to make one
youthful, and to also
be effective as a treatment for anxiety.
In the Middle Ages it was thought that aquamarine would reduce the
effect of poisons.
An ancient legend tells of sailors wearing aquamarine gemstones to
keep them safe and prevent
seasickness.
CITRINE: is a golden yellow form of quartz which takes its name
from "citron",
the French word for lemon. As a health-aid, it has been used as a purifying
agent
by releasing toxins from the body. In former times citrine was used
as a protective talisman
against the plague, bad skin, evil thoughts and as a charm against
snakebites.
It is also believed to symbolize happiness, aid in digestion, remove
toxins from the body,
and be useful in the treatment of depression.
It is said this gem provides the wearer with a sense of stability
and
can bring emotional balance to both
mind and body.
