Any lineal descendant of a Signer of the Declaration of Independence
twenty-one years of age or over, and possessing good moral character,
shall be eligible to full membership in the Society. Children eligible by descent
may be enrolled as Junior members upon application of an adult member
of the Society. Upon attaining their majority, Junior members may become
full members upon application to and approval of the Board of Governors.

Those persons who are direct descendants of an individual
who settled in the area now encompassed bythe Stateof Ohio,
before December 31, 1820, may become a member
of the First Families of Ohio, upon the acceptance of
an applicationwith proof of such descent and payment of
the application fee. Although membership in the
Ohio Genealogical Society is required to join,
maintaining membership thereafter is no longer required
to remain a member of First Families of Ohio.
